Oriola Oils Est. 2009 · Lagos, Nigeria · Export worldwide
We press below 45 °C, filter to five microns and fill into 25 kg pails, 190 kg drums and IBCs at our plant in Lagos, Nigeria.
01 — What we make
Everything below is produced in-house from raw kernel or nut. We hold stock of the fast-moving grades and press to order for volumes above five tonnes.
Unrefined and refined butter from Nigerian Vitellaria paradoxa kernels, pressed and hand-whipped to a stable grain.
The olein fraction of shea, kept liquid at room temperature and polished to a clear, low-odour oil.
Virgin coconut oil cold-pressed from fresh kernel, neither bleached nor deodorised, with the natural scent intact.
Cold-pressed Nigella sativa, pressed in small lots and filtered twice to hold colour and aroma steady between batches.
Cold-pressed and RBD palm kernel oil from kernels sourced in Edo and Cross River States, supplied on a lauric specification.
Two to six components blended to your formulation card, with a retained reference sample held for every production lot.
02 — The oil itself
Grade is a commercial decision before it is a technical one. Unrefined carries scent, colour and a higher free fatty acid load; refined gives you a neutral, colour-safe base. We supply both, plus anything you specify in between.
Grade A, filtered
RBD, deodorised
Built to your card
03 — Catalogue
Prices are quoted per kilogram against a live indication, FOB Lagos. Mixed pallets are possible across two grades above 1,000 kg total.

04 — How it is made
Nothing here is outsourced. Intake, pressing, filtration, filling and stuffing all happen on the same site, which is why we can hold a specification lot after lot.
Kernels and nuts are bought through cooperatives in Niger, Kwara and Oyo States. Every intake lot is weighed, logged against its supplier and sampled for moisture; anything above 8 % is rejected at the gate.
Nuts are hand-sorted for mould and foreign matter, then mechanically cracked and winnowed. Kernel yield per lot is recorded so supplier performance is visible over a season.
Screw presses run below 45 °C so tocopherols, unsaponifiables and the natural scent survive the press. No hexane, no chemical extraction, no post-press heating of unrefined grades.
Crude oil settles for 24 to 48 hours, then passes a plate-and-frame filter at 5 microns. Clear liquid grades take a second 1-micron polish before they go to the holding tank.
Our on-site laboratory checks acid value, peroxide value, moisture and organoleptics on every batch before release. Heavy metals and microbiological panels go to an accredited third-party laboratory on a scheduled basis.
Butters are filled warm and left to set overnight; liquid oils are filled cold and nitrogen-flushed on request. Each unit is lot-coded, tamper-sealed and weight-verified on the line.
Four drums or twenty-four pails to a pallet, stretch-wrapped with corner boards and a desiccant bag. Containers are stuffed on site and trucked to Apapa or Tin Can Island for FOB Lagos.
05 — The plant
12 Adeola Odeku Street, Lagos, Lagos State, 101233, Nigeria. Built out in stages since 2009 and running two shifts through the dry season.
06 — OEM & ODM
Most private-label programmes start with a 5 kg pilot and a formulation card. From there the path is short: sample, sign-off, artwork, fill.
7–10 days to sample
You send a target — a competitor sample, a viscosity, a scent profile or a full formulation card. Our technologist works two or three iterations and returns 250 g laboratory samples with the composition sheet.
10–14 days to dieline
Jars, tubs, bottles, pails and drums sourced locally or to your nominated supplier. We return print-ready dielines with fill lines, label panels and the mandatory declarations already positioned.
3–4 weeks from artwork sign-off
Filling into your containers or ours, labels applied in-house, lot codes and best-before dates printed on the line. From 300 kg per SKU, or 3,000 units for retail formats.
Issued within 48 hours of loading
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis, certificate of origin and phytosanitary paperwork where the destination requires it. Our forwarder handles the Nigerian export formalities.
07 — Compliance & quality
Certificates of analysis travel with every lot. Current test reports and the standards we work to are available on request — ask and we will send the file for the exact grade you are buying.
We reference standards generically. Certificates, scopes and current test reports are issued per lot, on request, for the specific goods being purchased.
08 — Markets
Share of shipped volume by destination region. Europe and North America take most of the refined and private-label work; regional buyers take the bulk drums.
09 — FAQ
If the answer you need is not here, write to sales@oriolaoils.com and you will hear back within one working day.
500 kg for most stocked grades, 1,000 kg for refined cosmetic-grade shea, and 300 kg for a custom blend once the sample is signed off. Retail-format private label starts at 3,000 units per SKU. Mixed pallets across two grades are possible above 1,000 kg total.
Stocked grades ship 7–12 working days from cleared deposit. Pressed-to-order volumes take 3–4 weeks. Custom blends run 3–4 weeks from approved sample, and private-label programmes 3–4 weeks from artwork sign-off. Between November and January, add roughly a week — that is peak shea season and the presses are full.
Yes. Laboratory samples of 100 g to 500 g are free; you cover the courier. Pilot samples of 5 kg are charged at cost and credited against your first order above 500 kg. Samples leave the plant 2–4 working days after we agree the specification, with the certificate of analysis in the box.
30 % deposit on order confirmation and 70 % against a copy of the bill of lading. Bank transfer in USD or EUR. For orders above USD 50,000 we also work against an irrevocable letter of credit at sight. Repeat buyers can move to open terms after three settled shipments.
FOB Lagos is our standard, loading through Apapa or Tin Can Island. CIF and DDP are quoted on request through our nominated forwarder. Orders below 300 kg and all samples go by air. Full container loads take 20' or 40' dry boxes; part loads are consolidated at the groupage warehouse in Apapa.
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We fill into your containers or ours, apply your labels in-house and print lot codes and best-before dates on the line. Send artwork and we will check it against our dielines and the declarations your destination market requires. From 300 kg per bulk SKU or 3,000 units for retail formats.
In sealed original packaging, stored below 25 °C and away from light: unrefined and refined shea butter 24 months, virgin coconut oil 24 months, palm kernel oil 18 months, black seed oil 12 months. Custom blends carry the shelf life of their shortest-lived component. Every batch has a retained sample held here for 24 months.
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis for each lot, certificate of origin, safety data sheet and the bill of lading. Phytosanitary certificates and fumigation certificates are added where the destination requires them, and the Nigerian export formalities are filed by our forwarder before loading. Tell us at order stage if your customs broker needs anything in a particular format.
